About me
I am an experienced clinical supervisor and am registered and approved with both BAPT and PTUK, having previously completed a 9-month course in Clinical Supervision with PTUK. I supervise a variety of practitioners, including support workers, counsellors and therapists.
Before becoming a therapist, I was a primary school teacher and have spent over 20 years working with children and families. I have worked with a range of not-for-profit settings in a therapeutic capacity, including Women’s Aid and other domestic abuse organisations. I have worked extensively with local authorities, supporting adopted and ‘looked after’ children and their parents and carers. I have also worked with case management clients, who have been impacted by accident or injury.
The majority of my work currently is with private clients and those who are supported by a local CIC which offers support to families who cannot afford therapy and for whom there are no other funding options.
In all these settings I have worked with neurodiverse clients, and I have now moved onto supporting neurodiverse children and their families as my main focus. I offer in person 1:1 play therapy, online therapy for young people over the age of 11 and parent consultations and support. I have clinical experience which informs my practice as a supervisor in the following areas:
- ADHD and autism
- Bereavement and loss
- Domestic abuse
- Adoption and fostering
- Attachment
- Anxiety and depression
- OCD
- School refusal
- Disability
Ways of Working
I incorporate creative approaches in my work, to allow deeper exploration of client and practitioner processes, including when working online. I work in an integrative way, which means that I use a variety of skills and training to inform my practice and ensure that I offer the best approach to each of my clients and supervisees.
