About me
Relationships where one or both partners are neurodivergent can be deeply rewarding, but they can also become caught in cycles of misunderstanding, frustration and disconnection. Often, both partners are trying their best, yet each experiences the relationship very differently.
I specialise in working with neurodiverse couples, including relationships where one or both partners are autistic, have ADHD, or identify as AuDHD. I have considerable experience of working with neurodiverse couples within the LGBTQ+ community, but I work with people of all sexualities.
Many of the couples I see have spent years feeling stuck in repeating patterns around communication, emotional needs, sensory differences, executive functioning, intimacy or conflict. Rather than viewing these differences as problems to fix, I help couples understand how each partner experiences the world and how those differences influence the relationship.
My work integrates Transactional Analysis psychotherapy with Imago Relationship Therapy. TA helps us understand how early attachment experiences and lifelong relational patterns influence the ways we communicate, respond to conflict and seek connection. Imago offers practical tools that help couples slow conversations down, listen more deeply and develop greater empathy for one another.
I have completed specialist training in working with neurodiverse couples and provide an affirming, non-pathologising approach that values difference rather than expecting either partner to change who they are.
Ways of Working
Every neurodiverse relationship is unique, so I tailor therapy to your individual needs. Together we explore the patterns that leave both partners feeling unheard or misunderstood, while developing new ways of communicating that honour each person’s different way of thinking, processing and relating.
Rather than deciding who is right or wrong, my role is to help you understand each other’s experiences more fully. As insight develops, couples often find greater compassion, reduced conflict and a stronger sense of connection.
Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis, adjusting to life as a neurodiverse couple, rebuilding trust or simply wanting a healthier relationship, therapy provides a space where both partners can feel understood, respected and supported.
